In or around 1954, the Viau Theatre opened its doors. It was renamed the Bobino in February 1982 and began hosting live performances on March 3, 1982. The theatre was leased by Canadian Odeon, which reopened it on April 29, 1983. However, it closed permanently in 1985 and was later demolished to make way for a funeral home.
