Theater

This small theater appears on the 1909 Sanborn. It was located in the western half of the old Central Hotel, a three story brick building constructed sometime before 1896, when the map shows a restaurant in this space.

This theater was one of several within a few blocks, and appears not to have survived very long. Nothing is listed at this address in the 1914-15 AMPD. The building was demolished by 1924, when this part of the block became the site of the 7 story Palace Clothing Co. building, which is still hanging on, though rather shabby.
