The Lyric Theater was at 204 South Walnut Street. It appeared without fanfare, first advertising in January 1910. Admission was five cents. In January 1914 George, Ina and Dudley Williston formed the Muncie Lyric Theater Company to operate the venue. Charles Lower, owner of the Crystal Theater, acquired the Lyric Theater from Dudley Williston on May 22, 1916 – the Crystal and Lyric were across Walnut Street from each other. By September 1921 Ray Andrews and the local Andrews Theater Company managed the playhouse. On November 1, 1925, Chicago-based Fitzpatrick-McElroy acquired the Columbia Theater, Star Theater and Lyric Theater from brothers C. Ray, Forrest and George Andrews. The Lyric Theater appears to have closed after showing “The Clash of the Wolves” on June 20, 1926.
By May 1927 brothers Gene and Dave Levin had moved their Mecca Cigar Store and pocket-billiard room from 323 South Walnut to the space that was formerly occupied by the Lyric Theater.
An earlier Lyric Theater briefly operated at 604 South Walnut Street in 1907.

According to an October 22, 1909, item in the Evening Press Messrs. Williston, Durham and Morrow opened the Lyric Theatre on October 21, 1909. Address confirmed as 204 South Walnut Street. It was a five-cent theater featuring moving pictures and good music.
