The Willard Theatre was owned by Abe Wallerstein. In July 1925 Wallerstein sold his four Michigan City, Ind., theaters to Chicago-based Fitzpatrick-McElroy. In April 1929 Publix Theaters Corp., the exhibition arm of Paramount-Famous-Lasky, acquired control of Fitzpatrick-McElroy creating Publix-Fitzpatrick-McElroy. The Willard Theatre was last listed in the 1931 Film Daily Yearbook, so it probably closed in 1930.

This Willard Theater was at 407 Willard Avenue. The November 14, 1914, Motography reported that the new moving picture theater being erected by Mrs. John Burns was “completed and will shortly be opened to the public.” There is a house at this location in 2025.
The original Willard Theatre building remained standing for many decades after closure. I cannot confirm when the theater building got demolished, but some of the neighboring business buildings remained standing into the 1980s.
