Siam

Siam Street in Brest was totally destroyed during the World War II. It gave the name of this movie theatre which was built as the district was rebuilt after bombing.

It was a fine designed and elegant movie theatre with a balcony, and always first run movies. The two level high lobby had an original advertising system for the 50s. A frosted glass screen at the level of the first floor was showing trailers for the patrons entering in the lobby. The projector was located in the projection booth of the theatre one floor beside.

Around the 1980’s the Siam was converted to a four screen multiplex and lost its original design. It was run by the SOREDIC chain, which operates many theatres in France. It had closed by June 2018 when it was in use as a G-Star Raw clothing store.
