This theater was located in the southern half of a two story brick commercial building which was constructed sometime before 1904. The entire building is shown as a furniture store on the 1911 map, and the theater does not seem to have opened by 1914-15, as Oberlin does not appear in the AMPD. The theater was operating by 1920.
If this theater remained in operation until 1926, then it was the Legion Theater, which made the transition to sound (offering Talk-a-Phone in 1930), but closed in 1931 or 1932.
The building today is rather dumpy, with a thick coat of stucco covering the bricks, and a really trashy sheet metal canopy from an urban ‘renewal’ project obscuring the ground floor. It appears that it may be used as an office.
