The Eckville Theatre opened its doors by Ernest Jackson and Ike Kaila on February 6, 1947 with Olivia de Havilland in “To Each His Own” (unknown if extras added). It was a 300-seat theater with a white-colored lobby and insulboard walls, all of which being completely fireproof.

Later renamed the Ecko Theatre, it was closed in Spring 1967, but reopened for a short time in late-1968. Its actual closing date remains unknown.
