The Aomori Toei Cinema 1 & 2 opened its doors in March 1986 as a twin, housing 520 seats (with 270 seats in each auditorium).
It was a replacement of the Aomori Toei Theater, a 1,200-seat single-screener that opened as the Daiichi Theater in 1952 and renamed the Aomori Toei Theater on August 11, 1958. That theater closed in January 1985 when it was both renovated and reconstructed.
A 85-seat third screen was added on December 11, 1993, and the theater closed for the final time on April 15, 2005.
