This theater appears on the 1912 Sanborn. It was located in a concrete block auditorium constructed behind a two story brick commercial building. This building may originally have existed as two stores constructed sometime before 1884, but after 1905, the building was either remodeled or replaced. The theater was accessed via a very narrow passageway on the north side of the building.
This was almost certainly the Empire Theater listed in the 1914-15 AMPD. The address given is ‘Main Street’, and while there is a Main Street, it has only a few businesses on it, and it may have been an error. The theater is listed in the 1926 and 1927 Yearbooks with no capacity, and was likely closed at this point.
The auditorium portion of this building was torn down many years ago, and the building itself has a very ugly slipcover. The door to the theater entry is still there.
