This very tiny town of 450 people at the time did had a movie theater at one time. The Mayfair Theatre opened its doors on January 23, 1954 with Richard Todd in Walt Disney’s “The Sword And The Rose” (unknown if extras added).

A little bit of information about the Mayfair Theatre as of 1954 confirms that the building itself measures 100x40ft, with a lobby space of 20x40ft finishing with sylvan plywood with vinylite tile floor, and the auditorium measuring 40x80ft featuring a 30x15ft visualite screen curved in prism arch, as well as two Dominion sound projectors with large arc lamps in a fireproof projection booth. The main entrance is located on the right side of the attractive front finished in red and gray arborite.

Despite its very small population, the Mayfair Theatre managed to have success as it was still open in 1963, but its closing date remains unconfirmed at this time.
