The small West Virginia town of Albrightsville (now known as simply Albright), had one early motion picture house in its history inside a former schoolhouse but was most likely very short lived. This was due to an explosion and a fire that burned down the theater, injuring numbers of people, and losing an estimate cost of $1,000 in damages on February 21, 1912. John Swearenger, its operator, was among the injured who attempted to put out the flames.
