Located in the east inner city district of Mitte, close to the Hackescher Markt. The Progress-Studio Kino was opened in 1992. It was a club-cinema, operated by Defa-Filmen, controlled by the Soviet DDR who occupied East Berlin at that time. In later years it had been renamed Borse Progress-Studiokino and was still open in 1995.
It was later closed and demolished and an office block now stands on an expanded site.
