Blind River Maple Cinema

This 240-seat single-screener opened at a school auditorium by Alex Solomon as the Palace II Theatre in the mid-1990’s after the original Palace Theatre closed around the same time (it has its own page on Cinema Treasures).

Despite the theatre closed for COVID in March 2020 and the passing of longtime theatre operator Alex Solomon in July 2021, Blind River was left without a movie theatre for three years until operators from a local business that runs laboratory samples from clinics to local hospitals for testing, reopening the theatre as the Blind River Maple Cinema on September 22, 2023 with the misandry film “Barbie”.
