Operator of the Canton Theatre, E. Dean “Red” Nash opened the Streamline Moderne style Pic Theatre on May 28, 1939 with Joan Blondell in “There’s Always a Woman”. It was downgraded to weekend only operation and then seasonal operation closing November 16, 1947. The Pic Theatre’s final show was Linda Darnell in “Forever Amber”. In 1949, the building was remodeled for the second home of the Sexe Clothing store.
