Sunset Drive-In

The Sunset Drive-In opened its gates on August 9, 1954 with Esther Williams in “Million-Dollar Mermaid” along with an unnamed cartoon. It was located in the Nashwaaksis area which is two miles north of downtown Fredericton. Bryon Evans was its original operator, and CinemaScope was installed in August 1957.

The Sunset Drive-In closed for the final time on August 31, 1986 with the dusk-to-dawn showings of “Howard the Duck”, “Legal Eagles”, “Psycho III”, and “Back to the Future”.
