Chalk River restaurant owner Romeo Lavergne and George Gordon Lumber Company employee Emile Arcand, both Cache Bay natives, opened the Sturgeon Falls Drive-In on July 8, 1955 featuring a 38x70ft CinemaScope screen. The theater originally housed 350 cars when it first opened.
It was still open in the late-1980s, but its closing date remains unconfirmed. Nowadays, part of Sabourin Road has been renamed Drive-In Road in dedication to the old drive-in.

The property is now a private residence. You can still see hints of ramps along with the general outline, but all the structures are gone save apparently one.
At the entrance is what appears to be the base of the marquee.
