The Martin Theatre opened in 1940. It was built in the shell of the Paramount Theatre, which had been destroyed by a fire early that year. The Paramount had been operated by Martin in partnership with pioneer local exhibitor Z. D. Studstill.
The owner information is incorrect, it was never a Budco theatre. The information is mixed up because Budco did own The Andalusia Drive-In on 724 Bristol Pike, Andalusia, PA
One of the previous links shows this theatre was part of the Doylestown, PA based Budco Theatres chain, which was later acquired in 1984 by AMC Theatres. Was this a Budco Theatre?
In 1970, the Martin was part of the Fred T. McLendon circuit, out of Union Springs, AL.
As recently as spring of 2006, the ghostly image of an older man has been observed following an employee into the projection rooms.

The past of this thater is marred with deaths and crime. If anyone can help me find specific details on any please do. I know that a young girl near the turn of the century died in a fire in the upstairs area. I also know that a man died in the old office which is now the ladies restroom. My mother remembers a man named Mutt Chavers being employed there for over 20 years around the mid 50’s and 60’s and being charged with the molestation of many boys in the theater. That’s the only info. I have as of now. There have been sightings of the girl there. She is said to be gentle until angered. She doesn’t like anyone to speak of the accident in the upstairs area. The employees have seen her peering out through the projector room window late at night while they clean after shows. I would like to know her name and what exactly happened and when.
