The Park Theatre was reportedly the first movie house in the Corona section of Queens and converted from a dance hall. “Even after they began to show pictures, it was the custom to clear the floor after the show and dance,” according to a newsletter published by the Queensboro Chamber of Commerce in 1926.
The Park Theatre apparently did not survive beyond the silent era. An outmoded address has it located at 46th Street and Sackett Street, which I believe are now known as 103rd Street and 39th Avenue.
