The Movies 6 was built by Cinemark Theatres as part of the new Layton Hills Mall. In 1990 Cinemark built a new Movies 10 and the Movies 6 was closed two years later.
Cinemark announced that the theatre would be demolished and a new 16 screen would be built in its place right next door to the Movies 10. That never happened instead it built a new Tinseltown with only seven screens.

I remember this theater as the Starship Theater. Is that right? I remember it had small and cramped theaters. I also remember it had several pinball machines in the back. It was open at least until late 1993, as I saw the first screening of Robocop 3 there.
This started life as a 4-screen theater known as the “Layton Hills Cinema IV” in 1980. Two more screens were added in July 1986 and was renamed “Layton Hills Cinema VI”.
It was first operated by Consolidated Theatres, but was taken over by Cinemark in April 1985.
The theater closed in August 1996.
