Let’s also mention Pontiac is one of the stops of Amtrak’s trains between St. Louis and Chicago.

The Eagle Theatre has been refurbished and reopened as a dinner theatre for live shows by the Vermillion Players, a theatre company based in Pontiac, Illinois. The Gilders Association, which has its museum in downtown Pontiac, recently re-gilded the decorative elements. The theatre can be rented for private events. For more information check out:

Pontiac is a Route 66 community located 100 miles south of Chicago on Interstate 55 or four hours north of St. Louis, MO. Pontiac also has a Route 66 Museum, an excellent War Museum, Looking for Lincoln sites, the Pontiac Automobile Museum, and other attractions within walking distance of the restored County Courthouse, the spire of which can be seen for miles. The Eagle Theatre is located about three blocks from the Courthouse Square.
