The drive-in sat on the SOUTH side of Abernathy, not the north. While the address is correct, Google is having a tough time mapping it. A 1978 aerial photo shows the drive-in to be demolished.

Today, the St. Isadore Catholic Church sits on the property. You can still see the faint outline of the ramps on the west side of the property.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 675 Decatur Hwy, Fultondale, AL. The drive-in can be clearly seen in in a 1970 aerial. A 1977 aerial shows the property to be closed.

Today, the property is partially covered by a new on-ramp to HWY 31 and the rest is an overgrown field. The projection booth/concession stand appears to still be there, although in bad condition.

A closer address (at least for Google) is N Main St & NE Mustang Dr, Andrews, TX. The drive-in was on the SW corner of the intersection.

Today, the property is mostly empty save for the National Bank of Andrews which sits on the SE side of where the drive-in once stood.

You can still see most of the ramps.

A 2012 aerial shows the both screens in bad shape. By 2013, both screens appear to have been removed.

A closer address is E2020 & Old State Hwy 98 Valliant, OK 74764.

That puts it about as close as you can with Google.

A 1980 Aerial photo shows a drive-in located with the current address of 3333 W 11th Ave Ste G, Eugene, OR.

It does appear that the old entrance road was on Seneca, but that is now gone and Fred Meyer and Chase Bank, which occupies the property, has their entrance along 11th Street.

The same 1980 aerial only shows one screen, not two. I will not guess as to why, I’m only saying that I see just one screen and the 1977 topo map shows the same one-screen drive-in.

Kenmore commented about Dayton West Drive-In on Apr 25, 2018 at 5:52 am

The drive-in at West Third and Victory Drive is the Sherwood Twin. The Dayton West is further to the west and on the south side of the road.

Today, the property is cut in half by I-35 with no trace of the drive-in remaining.

Found It!

The drive-in was located on the north side of Bozeman, the address is 2304 N. 7th Ave, Bozeman, MT. This is confirmed by a 1988 topography map and the mountains in the background match the photos shown of the drive-in.

Today, Bridger Park Shopping Mall or Strip Mall sits on the property with no traces of the drive-in remaining.

When in doubt, use the nearest intersection.

A closer address (at least for Google) is HWY 59 and 250th Street, Mahnomen, MN. The drive-in is located about a half-mile to the south of the intersection on the east side.

A 1991 aerial showed the drive-in intact, but it had been demolished by 2003. Today, there is no trace of the drive-in remaining apart from the entrance/exit roads. Although one of the small buildings on the property sort-of resembles a projector booth, but I cannot confirm that.

A closer address (at least for Google) is Chicora Road and Sullivan Road, Butler, PA. This address is close to the entrance road, which is on the south side and leads to the remains on the drive-in on Lick Hill.

The drive-in is overgrown, but still intact with the screen, concession stand/projection booth, and ramps still in place.

A closer address (at least for Google) is Rifle Range Road and Plateau Drive, Alstonville, NSW. The drive-in sat on the NE corner of the intersection.

Today, you can still see the ramps, but as indicated in the above post, the area is being turned into housing.

A 1961 aerial photo shows a drive-in at that location with only one screen.

Perhaps it was later rebuilt with two screens?

A closer address (at least for Google) is 227 Svoboda Ln, La Grange, TX. The drive-in sat on the west side of the city, just south of HWY 71.

The faint remnants of ramps from the old drive-in remained until 2014, but today a vet clinic sits on the property and there is no indication remaining of the drive-in.

A skirt or extension that extends from each side of the screen to help block out the sunlight. The screen faced east which also helped as the sun set in the evening.

A 1957 aerial photo shows what appears to be the shadow box, but it does not seem to be present in a 1969 aerial.

Kenmore commented about Urbana Autoscope Drive-In on Mar 28, 2018 at 2:05 pm

The poster says the autoscope was about 4 miles south of Urbana at Way’s Station. I’ve yet to find any info about “Way’s Station”, so it could be a few things (town, gas station, etc.)

Looking on Google Maps, I cannot find any trace of the autoscope along the stretch of HWY 65 near where the poster says it was located. Any information would be helpful to locate the very first autoscope drive-in.

Kenmore commented about Picture Show Drive-In on Mar 27, 2018 at 12:29 pm

The drive-in that was located on HWY 75 near Graham Road was the Pines Drive-In. So, I do not believe there is any connection to “The Picture Show”.

Nor do I see any evidence that a drive-in existed at the 975 Highway 190 E location. It is unusual to remove all traces of a drive-in, but that’s not to say it hasn’t happened.

You got me.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 4485 E 7th St. Joplin, MO.

This places it right on the property and you can still see the remnants of the drive-in which include the center platform, the ring, and what may be the remains of the ticket booth.

A closer address (at least for Google) is US 80 and Buck Sherrod Road, Marshall, TX. A 1995 aerial photo shows the drive-in to still be intact.

Today, the drive-in has been demolished, but you can still see the ramps.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 5747 KY-2830 Owensboro, KY. This address places it directly on the property. The drive-in itself appeared intact in a 1967 aerial photo

Today, the property is vacant with no trace that a drive-in ever existed.

A closer address (at least for Google) is 16621 US-412, Springdale, AR. You can see the circular layout of the drive-in clearly on a 1980 aerial. It should be noted that this section of US 68 was replaced by US-412.

Today, it is private property, but you can still see remnants of the circle or ring of the drive-in.

Kenmore commented about Mustang Drive-In on Mar 15, 2018 at 7:14 am

A closer address is 945 AZ-87, Chandler, AZ. That puts it right next to what use to be the old entrance road of the drive-in. However, the road itself is listed in Google as “unknown”, so the address of the car lot (which use to be a convenience store) is the next best.

Today, the property is mostly apartment buildings with no trace of the drive-in remaining.
