The Hippodrome probably just before it was converted to the Court Theater (postcard is ostensibly dated 1916, but the Hippodrome only lasted into early 1914). The theater was built into an older existing building; the seats were apparently hard and not particularly comfortable. “Hippodrome” is barely legible on the white sign just about the center entrance; the overhanging sign to its right may have been a primitive marquee of coming attractions.
