Grew up in Louisville and used to attend this theater occasionally, mainly when the films of Laurel and Hardy were being shown! Lived in the 800 block of Eastern Parkway, went to the old Emerson School, Highland Junior High, and 10th grade at the old Atherton High, before moving to Indianapolis with my parents in the fall of 1951. MANY fond memories of growing up in Louisville!
I grew up in Louisville and went to the Capitol (and sometimes the Shelby) on literally every Friday night and Sunday afternoons for many years. Later, when I “graduated” from the old Emerson (elementary)School, I began attending the Uptown, Bard, and sometimes the Airway neighborhood theaters. I went to Highland Jr. High and 10th grade at the old Atherton High School, before moving with my parents to Indianapolis. MANY fond memories of growing up in Louisville!
