For General Cinema, October 1977 was a busy time as the chain opened its eighth and ninth theaters in the Dallas metroplex. #8 was the Red Bird Mall I-II-III-IV just outside of the Red Bird Mall. It would be joined by the Red Bird Mall V-X in the 1980s. Meanwhile, #9 would be the Richardson Square I-II-III inside of the Richardson Square Mall. It would be joined by the Richardson 6 across the street in the 1980s.
