Located at 237 The Mall (a block and a half down from the shopping precinct) the Masonic Temple and Public Hall was built by Lodge # 323, and opened with a ‘plain and fancy dress’ ball on Friday 5th December 1919. By then Katoomba Theatres Ltd. had negotiated a lease arrangement. A Public Hall license was issues 21st January 1920. The 100 x 30 foot ‘entertainment hall’ occupied the ground floor featuring a raised projection suite, and lodge rooms above extending back 40 feet from the building front.
