Hoyt Lesher of Hoyt’s Doughnuts in Yuba City launched the city’s first ozoner. Hoyt’s Open Air Drive-In launched August 16, 1939 with a double-feature of William Boyd in “The Lost City” and Cowboy Fred Scott in “Melody of the Plains” supported by the short, “Winging Around Europe with Will Rogers.”
