William (Bill) Elliott starred in a 1938 Republic serial called “The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok”. It was a hit and Elliott was assigned by Republic Pictures to star in a string of “Wild Bill Hickock” B-westerns.

According to the “Internet Movie Database”, one of these pictures, “Beyond the Sacramento” opened nationally on November 11, 1940. During 1940, there were three Elliott/Wild Bill pictures released by Republic—“Beyond the Sacramento”, “Wildcat of Tucson”
and “Prairie Schooners”. Elliott was most likely the actor that appeared at the Cameo Theater in November 1940.
