Just behind the entrance to the Auditorium was standing room area. On many nights, we sold standing room only tickets at half price to view Blockbuster movies. Goldfinger played at the Metropoitan for almost a year and standing room only was common on Friday and Saturday nights for 6 months.
The large mural on the left is the largest in the theatre. It was 1 story tall depicting a Eqyptian queen being carrier on her traveling throne. These pictures were canvas and it is unknonw if they survived demolition in 1973.
