We lived in Ridgecrest between 1956 and 1959 when I was in elementary school. My parents would take us to the Crest to see triple creature features like “The Revenge of Frankenstein” and other Hammer films. I had nightmares for years because I watched all of them but my brother would fall asleep during the cartoons and sleep like a lamb. There was a playground in front of the screen with swings and a slide.
