UPDATE 2018
The Rex Theater in Clay Center, Kansas is undergoing a MAJOR renovation, funded by three local investors. A new roof, new paint, repair of the art deco plaster, new handicapped accessible restrooms, complete removal of all debris that was ever stuffed in any hole throughout the entire building, brand new wider seats both on the main level and in the balcony, digital sound, digital movie equipment, a brand new screen with a system that will raise and lower it, even the area beneath the stage intended to be a dressing room will now be used for such once again! The Rex Theater will be open once again by the end of July 2018. They will have live entertainment and movies!
One more thing, the theater with its new larger seats will be able to see it less than 300 people
The Rex is expected to open before summer of 2018
