This theater, like many Brooklyn theaters, is aweful now. The theater, its employees, the mall and the people that still go there directly reflect the neighborhood which is becoming increasingly ghetto. I also saw Batman back in the day at Kings Plaza. The lines were long and the theater was packed but it was fun. I can honestly say that I would rather go to the UA Sheepshead- a theater in which I dread going to!

I grew up in this neighborhood and it was my childhood theater. I admit that I miss the Kingsway. I used to go to the movies a lot more when this theater was opened. Now, we are forced to go to the UA in Sheepshead Bay with all the pre-slutty tweens and slutty teenagers. I believe the last movie I saw at the Kingsway was Titanic. I can remember that we went on a class trip from PS 238 (2 blocks away) to see Schindler’s List. When I got older, I can remember sneaking smokes in the back of all 5 theaters. Ushers would always come by to try to bust me and my friends but the theaters were so big, that we never got caught!

I forgot to mention that this is a safe neighborhood so if you decide to drive, there is no need to worry about your car getting jacked!

I grew up in Gravesend, 4 blocks from this theater. I has always amazed me that this theater has remained opened despite the public school up the block (PS 238 on E 8th St bet. Quentin Rd & Ave P). The outside of the theater has always been in need of a makeover. I have never been inside but I am surprised this theater remains open in a time when UA/ Regal Sheepshead Bay dominates in this part of Brooklyn. However, this is an “adult entertainment” theater. This theater must have lots of loyal regulars attending. An upside, if any, to having this XXX theater in the neighborhood is that it seems well maintained and does not advertise its “XXX” theme. Although it is not my thing, this is a good theater if you do not mind whacking off in a semi-public place. Hell, it may be what some people are looking for. Some posts have asked for directions:

DIRECTIONS TO THEATER:
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: -B/Q train to Kings Highway. Xfer to WESTBOUND B82 bus to East 8th Street -OR- walk WEST 8 blocks to East 7th Street. ( It’s not a far walk).
-F train to Kings Highway. Xfer to an EASTBOUND B82 bus to East 7th Street -OR- walk EAST 6 blocks to East 7th Street. (Again, it’s not a far walk).

DRIVING: FROM BELT PARKWAY: Belt Parkway to Exit 7B Ocean Parkway- North. Ocean Parkway to Kings Highway (about 1 mile). Right on Kings Highway for 1 block to E 7th St. Theater is on drivers side (can’t miss it!).

FROM MANHATTAN: West Side Expressway or FDR Drive to Brooklyn Bridge or Brooklyn- Battery Tunnel. Once in Brooklyn, merge onto Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (BQE). Take BQE to Prospect Expressway (Exit 24). Take Prospect Expressway to the end where it becomes Ocean Parkway. From Ocean Pkwy, drive South to Kings Highway (about 2.5 miles). Left on Kings Highway for 1 block. Theater is on the drivers side.(can’t miss it!).
