Photograph of the Granada as cinema. Designed by Liverpool Architect Alfred Ernest Shennan it was to be his twenty first cinema. Like most of Shennan’s cinemas the exteriors were built of special bricks he personally sourced from the Keymer Brick & Tile Company, Burgess Hill, Sussex whom he regularly visited by train. The Granada had no connection to the Granada cinema chain owned by Sidney Bernstein, it was built by The Granada Cinema (Liverpool) Ltd., Directors being J.Doyle and M. Wilkinson.
