Thats funny, because I remember it as adjacent to the ‘Puerto Rico’ theatre, exactly where the tunnel’s south entrance is now. Im pretty sure it was gone when the tunnel opened; the site of Centro Europa was the old ‘Ferretería Europa’ which remained standing for many years after the tunnel was finished c. 1979

I saw few movies at these theatre, since the Laguna UA150 was nearby and was much, much larger. Last film I saw here was Star Trek: the Motion Picture. I believe this was owned by Cobb Theatres at some point.

I believe this was at the strip mall on the corner of Campo Rico and Comandante Avenues. For those trying to pin it down, there are two malls, a high school is adjacent to the one with the now demolished theater. Current map may show a CVS at the site.

The Grand was on the corner of Loíza and Jefferson streets, if anyone wants to fix the map; there’s a pawn shop where the theatre used to stand.

My folks religiously took us every Sunday to the double feature. One flick I remember seeing at the Grand was the indescribably awful LaserBlast (later resurrected as a MST3K episode).

Speaking of religion, this theatre also dutifully screened “The Ten Commandments” and similar films during Easter week, as did many other PR theaters including the now-legendary Laguna UA150.

As far as I recall it was last owned by a family named Obrador, a son was a classmate of mine who gave me some promo materials from time to time including a Spanish ‘Guerra de las Galaxias’ (Star Wars) T-shirt. Memories!
