This place held so many great memories growing up in the 80’s.
After I graduated High School I got a job there. Management was horrible and working the door ripping tickets was an absolute nightmare because security would let there family members walk through without a ticket. At the time I didn’t want to get fired so I told managment and security didn’t see anyone walk through in which led me to get fired.
Am I sad to see the theater get torn down…yes, but the storing of 3 day old popcorn in the back I can see how rats were rampant.
I used to work there in 1997 and the people I worked with made the experience amazing. It was real cool to watch Scream 2 a couple of days before release but working the opening night was a nightmare. I’ll always remember everyone I worked with and I miss the theater.
I’m currently writing a Book on San Francisco Movie Theaters, If anyone would like their 2 cents into it about the Coronet, Let me know. This Theater as well as the Fox should of been saved.
This was my Absolute Favorite theater in San francisco because of the Star Wars Memories. Pls feel free to contact me.

I remember watching TRON, Blue Thunder, Star Trek 3 and Ghostbusters 1 and 2. The Funny thing I remember was when they remodeled it, One theater had the crappy seats (Theater 1) and the Second theater had the recliners. Cursed with Funny memories. Pls correct me if I’m wrong.

I fondly remember watching movies such as Conan, Robocop, Transformers (Twice to pack it All in) and Dead Time Stories.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Bevmo. But I still Miss the 6 and the Plaza 1 and 2 up the street.

Recent news. It has been Demolished. Nothing but a hole in the ground. I’ll try to take pics soon and upload them.
