A true blockbuster! In this photo from October 1953, the crowds are wrapped around the block for a special Midnight Spook Show - FANTOM FOLLIES WITH MARKO THE MAGICIAN (Dick Berry). By the looks of the crowd lined up around the block, this Midnight Spook Show was a hit with kids of the 1950s who were also fans of “Creature of the Black Lagoon” and “I Was Teenage Werewolf.” Fantom Follies was popular with the James Dean crowd - and gave them an excuse to stay out after midnight!
