February 18, 1951 and the end of the Gem Theatre #2 (which it was originally called due to it being the second Gem Theatre) as a major player in film exhibition in Blytheville. When the New Ritz Theatre opened the next day, Gem II was closed. It may have had some further bookings in the 1960s but in 1969, the marquee fell down and the theatre was considered an eyesore.
