The RKO Orpheum theatre closed on September 26, 1965 with a showing of “Shennandoah.” Under Dubinky Brothers management in 1965, the theatre’s sign was quickly removed (see above) and it became the Galaxy Theatre and the balcony was quickly walled off. renamed Galaxy relaunched on October 8, 1965 with “The Great Spy Mission.” It would close in 1977.
