To boost mid-week attendance in 1962 the Ritz had “Dish Nights” where a different dish was given away with each adult admission ticket. Patrons could presumably collect a complete set of dishes with regular mid week attendance. This gimmick was popular in the 1950’s as a method of getting people away from their TV’s but by 1962 most theatres had given up on it I believe. I don’t think it lasted all that long at the Ritz either. Sort of an amazing program since adult tickets in small towns like Calistoga were still priced under a dollar.
