This photo in the April 4, 1962 issue of the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise was the first of three in a stack. (Not my copyright, of course, and possibly in the public domain.) The combined caption:

SHOW OF DESTRUCTION - The Belle Mead drive-in theater, located on West 14th Street, has taken quite a beating from vandals since its closing several years ago. The screen (upper photo) is pock-marked with holes made by rocks and clubs. Speaker poles (lower left), lie like dead soldiers in a row, while the interior of the concession stand (lower right), is a display of more vandalism. The theater was built in 1953, but was forced to close due to lack of attendance. The destruction has been going on for the past two years, according to show officials.
