The above three photos were taken at the opening of the Embassy cinema. The top picture is of the Ballroom, to the right behind the orchestra Dias is a large modernist mural hand painted by Eugene Mollo. The centre picture is of the foyer, decoration by Mollo & Egan, with pay box by Betty Joel, who was responsible for all hardwood joinery in the Embassy including flush doors, large barriers, steel faced entrance doors and panelling the manager’s office in cherry wood. The bottom picture shows a section of the auditorium, the walls in various shades of rose, with touches of gold. A deep rose colour covered the ceiling and fades to lighter shades as it meets the walls.
