On a busy road and former tram route connecting the popular seaside suburb of Henley Beach with the city, and diagonally opposite the former Torrensville Star theatre, this much larger venue was opened by the Star Theatre circuit in the Thebarton Town Hall. It is now a venue for visiting rock shows, and as such has been the place where some of the best known performers in the world have been seen by Adelaide audiences, though those attracting really large crowds are now catered for by the huge Adelaide Entertainment Centre in Hindmarsh, which is directly connected by trams and trains to the city.
