William Castle chose the Palace Theatre in Youngstown Ohio as the venue for the world premiere of his newest shocker. The event took place on April 28, 1961. The Homicidal DVD contains a featurette showing the crowds lined up outside the Palace that evening under the glittering marquee. As patrons enter the lobby they are greeted by Castle himself handing out cowards certificates. Also shown is Castle interviewing several members of the audience on their reactions to Homicidal.
