On December 7, 1979 the Tyrone Theatre falls under ownership of AMC (along with the Crossroads) and is renamed 9th Avenue Theatre. Theatre closes for cleaning and repairs and reopens 14 days later with first-run attractions once again. Ad from the St. Petersburg Times.
