During the 1950s and early 60's, I.G. Harris, the son of I.H. Harris, the founder of Harris-Voeller Theatres lived in a house behind the Alfresco. From his large picture window he could watch the movies and listen with the wired-in sound. It could be Idaho's first home theatre.

The former Alfresco site is next to the open Century Cinemas. Unfortunately, if you are new in town and want to go to the Century Cinemas and you use the addresses from the many movie showtime sites on the web, you will end up confused and in the wrong place. Even the Century Cinemas own website has no address at all. The best way to find it on Google maps is to type in: 400 S Road and Minidoka Ave. Burley, Idaho. This should give you a good aerial shots of an outline of the Alfresco and the Century, which sits next to it. For a Google street view, follow 400 S Road until you see the Century Cinema on the north side of the road.
