Located in the Saddar district of Karachi, this was said to be the first theater in Pakistan with two balconies. It was built in the 1960’s and was also the first cinema in Karachi to be equipped with 70mm screen and projection equipment. The first film shown in this process was David Lean’s “Lawrence of Arabia”.

There’s an interesting history to this cinema in Karachi, Pakistan. It was funded by the Gambino crime family in New York. At the time, they wanted to expand their operations in South Asia. They even have a picture of Carlo Gambino at the cinema.
