The Sands Theatre was situated in Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. It was built on the site of the Star Theatre. Its grand opening was on 19th July 1963,and opened to business on 20th July 1963 with Walt Disney’s “The Parent Trap”. It showed first-run English-language and Chinese films until its closure on 1st January 1980. Its 70mm, 1,093-seat auditorium was on the first floor of the theatre building. A commercial building was built on the site of the theatre.

Sands was paired up with Oriental, Wan Chai, before it’s closure in 1980.
