“Evangeline” and “The Broadway Melody” were the first two movies to open at the Kings, both supported by stage revues originally presented at the Capitol Theatre in midtown Manhattan. Seating capacity of 4,000 was an overstatement.

Dolores Del Rio wasn’t actually part of the stage show at the Kings. She was being rushed around NYC by chauffeured limousine to make similar appearances at other Loew’s theatres booked with “Evangeline.”
