Would go every Saturday morning during the winter to watch 50 cartoons. My folks would give me 50 cents. 25 to get in, 15 for a box of popcorn and 10 for a soda. This was in the 50’s.
It’s great to see these old photos from the old neighborhoods.
I love seeing these old photos. This was a beautiful theater in its heyday but on the decline by the ‘50s. My best friend and I were in grade school then and would walk to the theater every Saturday, too. It says a lot about the neighborhood that our parents never gave it a second thought.
