The splay walls that adjoined the circle front featured a large decorative gilt grille representing a fountain rising from an urn supported by winged griffin either side. This decorative area also concealed the Wurlitzer organ chambers. Also seen a close up of the outer proscenium arch, with hand painted carnival revellers in colourful costumes of clowns, musicians and acrobats 1930’s. dancing around the whole archway. The interior fibrous plaster work and decorations were carried out by the London firm Clark & Fenn, who worked on most of the Watkins cinemas during the 1930’s.
