Santa Cruz Theatre Sign

They still call the building The Old Santa Cruz Theatre Building. If you go by check out the nice little sign to the right of the former cinema and It will tell all about It’s movie days long gone. When a new multiplex opened a block away they stole the name Santa Cruz Theatre. Many visitors and tourists have no idea the now office-restaurant building was once the original Golden State/United California Theatres ‘Santa Cruz Theatre’. It closed around the CinemaScope® wide screen time and I don’t think It ever had a scope type screen. I may be wrong, It sat empty for many years draining all the water and mold out of the river water that came into the lower seating area up to the screen.
